Table 52: Chicago Great Dates

Table Fifty-Two is without a doubt one of the most inviting and engaging restaurants in all of Chicago. Owned by Art Smith (Oprah’s chef), this upscale, Southern cooking is fit for a king. At one point a carriage house, the space feels as if you are walking into someone’s home.

I have been here several times for dinner (which I highly recommend) but all should try the Sunday brunch. This is the only day they serve their infamous Fried Buttermilk Chicken, which is a three day process just to make. I went here with my mom for Mother’s Day and it was spectacular!
I adore the simple china that matches the decor perfectly.

Chef Art has everything perfected right down to the small mason jar of syrup accompanying the Fried Chicken and Waffles.
Made with the fluffiest eggs, the Quiche and side of Arugula is exquisite and a personal favorite.
Our waiter’s recommendation, the Grillards and Grits (short rib) was quite satisfying as well.
And what would brunch be without a Bloody Mary with a whole vegetable garden? Again the mason jar. Love.
We concluded our meal with the perfect breakfast and brunch treats.
Bacon doughnuts! OMG.
And sinfully sweet Hummingbird Cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Their specialty.
With only 52 tables and true southern dishes, you cannot argue that Table Fifty-Two is Chicago’s home of Southern hospitality.
See y’all next time!
