Local Loves: Brittney + Sapori Trattoria

Hi guys! Today Brittney, one of my best friends and go to fashion stylists, is sharing her favorite dinner places on Local Loves. And boy is it tasty! If you are new to Cedar and Rush, Local Loves is a series where Chicagoan’s share their favorite things about their city. If you have a spot, store, event, etc. of your own you would like to showcase, shoot me an email. I am in the market for some new guests! In the mean time, let’s drool over some mouthwatering Italian dishes. Mama mia!
Name: Brittney Bull
Website: Dress Mee
Lives: I called Lincoln Park my home for eight years, and am now in the process of moving to Elmhurst.
Local Love: Sapori Trattoria
Location: Lincoln Park
Why Do You Love It?: It’s accessibleconsistent, and absolutely delicious

Sapori Trattoria is a local joint that wouldn’t easily come across just anyone’s radar. The decor is that of a typical Italian trattoria, cozy and quaint. The service is Johnny-on-the spot with melt-in-your-mouth pastas to boot. But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself.

{classic bread with buttery olive oil, salt, pepper + freshly grated Parmesan cheeeeese}
Occupation: Fashion Stylist; Part-time Performance Improvement Analyst at Cision, a Media Relations Company; and full time mama.
Age: 30
From: Wheaton, IL
{crostini di advocado – a nice change from the typical bruschetta – i have never seen this before}
{my personal favorite – handmade ravioli pastas stuffed with pumpkin and butter sauce – almost dessert worthy}
What is your “go to” cocktail of choice?: A buttery Chardonnay is my go-to (Rombauer is my fav!).  On those rowdy nights, I love a good dirty martini with blue cheese olives.
Heels or Flats?: Don’t make me choose! Okay, flats.
Favorite Chicago blogs/websites?: Cedar & Rush (thanks Britt!)
Next spot you want to try:
For a bite with girlfriends: Fig & Olive
For a special date night with the husband: Schwa

{milk & honey baby back ribs – pure heaven – falls right off the bone!}
{the chef sends handwritten letters with discounts and coupons to all his regulars! adorable right? so genuine and personal – i can’t imagine the time it takes to write these to all his frequent customers}
{homemade tirramissu}

I (C&R) am completely guilty of hitting up the trendy, commercial places. I get hung up in all the hooplah – dressing up, scene and be seen, vibrant music, etc. So having someone take me to a mom and pop run restaurant, made me take a step back and reflect. There is something to be said about good food, good service and straight up passion. This is why I adore Local Loves. There are so many fabulous places in Chicago that deserve just as much attention as the dog and poney shows. It’s nice to be pushed out of my boundary and I hope that this inspires you to get out of your bubble too!

Brittney, a huge thank you sharing to Sapori Trattoria! Speaking of good advice, if you are ever in the market for some hot date outfit suggestions or want to spruce up your wardrobe, take a look around at Brittney’s website. She has helped me out so many times and makes you feel quite comfortable in the process.Have you tried this place before? Where is your favorite Italian restaurant? If you have a go to spot (for anything at all!), shoot me an email to get it featured on Cedar and Rush. Take care!
