TGIF Friends! What are you doing this weekend? I have that perfect balance of something planned and nothing at all, which I am really looking forward to. Tomorrow evening Sean and I are grabbing dinner with friends and my SIL and BIL (sister-in-law & brother-in-law). I cannot wait to see them. We are hitting up my favorite Italian restaurant in all of Chicago. The gnocchi are like soft pillows and I could bathe in the Bolognese for days. It’s THAT good.

Tonight we are popping by our friends (the G’s) to see them and their new baby. Speaking of The G’s – they gifted me this really cute Old Navy Fair-Isle Sweater (only $19!) as a Christmas gift. Isn’t it so cheery? I had actually pointed it out to Mrs. G after I saw it here and she surprised me with it this week. Thanks Steph!

Call me Captain Obvious but it’s so cold here in Chicago that it’s all we Chicagoan’s can talk about. This is my go to look when I brave Chiberia – a popular look for all Midwest ladies. Hunters, a layered sweater, jeans and a long puffy coat.  Covering your tush is key. I always try to accessorize my face, as that’s the only thing that shows when bundled up. I wore my Kate Spade headband (old), a red lip, new Tom shades and my C.Wonder studs. Side Note: Did you know C.Wonder is going out of business?! Everything on their site is 50% off right now, so take advantage ladies.

What are your plans this weekend? And have you been sticking to your New Year Resolutions? I am taking a hiatus from booze for two weeks (only 5 more days!). So far I have been doing well but I think it is going to be really hard this weekend. But I am holding strong. Oh and don’t forget next Monday’s Work Smarter, Not Harder features Lindsay Humes, the CEO and founder of the graphic design company, White Oak Creative. Stay warm out there!
