My Favorite Skin Food

beauty-routine

I believe a pretty face begins with a strong, dewy, healthy foundation. Skin and hair. You know. It’s the secret to looking in the mirror and feeling “Damn! I look pretty good today!”

I’m sharing the beauty products that were major game changers for me. Just in case they tickle your fancy too. I spend my own money on these items and love the results. My makeup blends naturally, lasts longer and my hair is ten times stronger.

Before I jump in, here are the 4 factors I consider when it comes to my beauty buys:

Price + Results + Amount of Use + Realistic

These recommendations are ideal for those who don’t like dropping hundreds of dollars (but secretly wish they could), don’t want an 8 step bedtime routine (who has the time?) and values quality products.

2016 beauty trends

Bliss Fabulous Drench ‘n’ Quench: This face moisturizer is unlike anything! It feels like you’re pressing a million water droplets into your face. Hellllloooo hydrated, dewy skin. It’s the only cream to water lock-in moisturizer on the market. Full disclosure – I received this courtesy of bliss but 100% plan on re-filling it on my own. The $38 price tag is just as great.

Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum: I fought purchasing a serum for so long. Another step and more dollar bills yo. But I wish I would have given in years ago! I found this overnight repair serum half off this summer and still have half a bottle left! It only takes 3 drops and it soaks into your skin beautifully. It ups your moisturizer game times 10. I apply this every night before the Bliss Drench ‘n’ Quench.

Weleda Skin Food: When I read this was Tory Burch’s “go to moisturizer” I knew I had to have it. I secretly want to be her. {If Cady Heron wears army pants and flip flops. I wear army pants and flip flops.} Especially since it’s only $13 from Wholefoods and Target. Once I found out about it, I started seeing it everywhere. Apparently there’s a huge cult following and you can use it from your face to your elbows. I use this on my face if it’s super dry and I wake up with the softest skin. It’s dense and oily, so if you struggle with oily skin, I wouldn’t recommend using on your face.

Fekkai PrX Reparatives Masque: If you’re hair is dry and brittle or you want to protect your hair between highlights, this will last you several trials for just $25. I’m a huge Fredrick Fekkai fan.

Honorable mentions…

Chanel CC Cream: Takes 15 seconds to rub in and accomplishes that even steven skin tone we all want. Works in a pinch and as a great base for a full face. Plus it’s super moisturizing. No flaking!

Make Up For Ever HD Powder: Smooths in wrinkles and holds your makeup all day long. Gives your skin a silky finish. My favorite trick to a long lasting lip is to apply one coat of lipstick. Powder. And reapply. It will never come off! I also love giving the mini versions as birthday gifts to friends.

Glossier Balm dot.com: The ABSOLUTE best lip balm! And can we talk about their gorgeous, minimalistic packaging?

Have you tried any of these? Love, hate? What are your go to beauty products that you spend your own moolah on time after time? I love knowing what other people keep in their makeup bags.
