Loews, Miami South Beach

Time with your besties is priceless these days. Especially once your friends start having babies and families. It’s impossible to get together! Since our girls trip to Miami was a rare occasion,  {our husbands surprised the four of us with a girl’s getaway for Christmas!} we wanted to go all out.

I made my three friends (who are moms except for me!) tell me what they were looking forward to most. I got a huge kick out of their answers…

  1. Taking a nap. You don’t get those anymore as a mom!”
  2. “Not preparing food for a single person. I’m constantly making breakfast, snacks, lunch, treats and dinner for everyone at home! I swear it never ends.”
  3. “Spending uninterrupted time with my girlfriends. I can’t wait to have REAL conversations with zero distractions.”

Although we never made that nap (too much fun was being had!), every moment and expectation was exceeded, thanks to the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Situated in the heart of South Beach, we walked to some of the hottest restaurants in Miami. With beachfront property {heaven!}; the amenities are top of the line {their cabanas are out of control} and filled to the brim with art! And their service is phenomenal.

Here’s a highlight reel of our stay. But beware. You may have to book a trip on the spot…

RENT A CABANA: Our first day was a cabana day at the pool! Which is essentially a second hotel room poolside, with a private bathroom and seating area. We were welcomed with fresh fruit and juice, champagne, complimentary sunscreen, reserved lounge chairs and our private waitress (thank you Jesse!). We ordered lunch, caught up and soaked in every drop of sunshine. It was perfect.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS: Sarah Raskey – a Chicago artist – did most of the art in the hotel. Can we talk about this wall mural that greets you at check in? Loved this touch of Chicago even though we were across the country. I’ve been a fan of hers for years.

As for our rooms, the ocean balcony was a dream. We left our sliding doors wide open and welcomed the breeze. But I can’t fail to mention the cloud like beds, Sarah Raskey designed head boards, and the best room service ever. We took advantage of this everyday during our stay. We enjoyed breakfast on our balcony, had “make your own mojitos” (with sugar cane and fresh mint) delivered and nibbled on a cheese and dessert board before dinner!

THE GROUNDS: You can’t beat the location of The Loews and the entire experience that comes with it. We some how made it to a bootcamp class at their spa and gym – Exhale (which is also one of my favorite spas in Chicago!). The immaculate landscaping makes you feel a million miles away. We loved grabbing cocktails at the bar before our nights out. The live music was the cherry on top! The perfect home base for experiencing Miami in its entirety.

Truly a trip I’ll remember forever! If you ever make a trip to South Beach, I highly suggest staying at the Loews South Beach. Not only did they just complete a multi-million dollar renovation, you are taken care of like a queen!
