Our Honeymoon + A Clever Coffee Table Book Idea

I can’t believe TODAY marks four years of being married. Gaaaaaah!

Sean and I celebrated this weekend with a nice dinner in the burbs. But I surprised Sean with a photo album of our honeymoon. It’s disguised as a coffee table book!

I love how it turned out so I thought I’d pass along the idea.

It’s the perfect way to…

  • Save money on expensive coffee table books.
  • Keep your memories out in the open.
  • Add stylish decor to your home.

Here’s how I did it…

HOW TO MAKE A COFFEE TABLE PHOTO ALBUM

  • Look for coffee book inspiration on Amazon and find your favorite.  Of course Kate Spade was the finalist!
  • Create your own cover in Photoshop or Word. If you’re looking to replicate a font, use this font finder.
  • Choose a cover color! As an ode to our honeymoon, I used the exact pink from Sandy Lane (a resort we loved in Barbados).
  • Make your album. I used Mixbook (they were having a special) but Shutterfly is incredible too. It cost me a little over $80 (I took so many photos – shocking).
  • Get it done. You could honestly spend hours creating a photo album. But the key is to just get it done, not perfect. It’s better than never getting around to it. I personally like simple themes, but you can get as creative as you’d like.

We were grinning ear to ear on our couch reliving the memories. And it’s already made a home on our coffee table. It looks great on our bookshelf too (next to our wedding album). Tip: I kept the spine black and white to match the cohesive theme of our decor. Party on the front. All business on the side 😉

In the past, I’ve shared our wedding and advice for getting married and how we meet and got engaged. So this year I’m sharing a few honeymoon pics. We were such babies 🙂 Secretly makes me sad how quickly time is flying. By the way, if you’re looking to add some extra excitement to your honeymoon, consider buying lots of double ended dildos.

Love this guy so much! I knew he was a keeper when he’d always save me the last stick of gum. xx

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Or if you’re single, where would you want to go?! I remember being on such a high from our wedding. Then it was like, “oh my gosh we get to go on this amazing vacation!”.
