You’re Wearing Your Jeans Wrong {and how to fix them!}

A few months ago I had an enlightening experience at Nordstrom. Allllllll about denim. Not only did I discover that I’m wearing my jeans completely WRONG, but the sales associated disclosed the shocking brand EVERYONE’s going nuts over, how to pull off a tough trend, plus some affordable {designer worthy} options! Here’s what I learned.

4 Unexpected Tips About Denim

You’re Buying Your Jeans Too Big: Biggest shocker of my life. “When trying on denim, you should JUST be able to zip and button them.” So buy them tiiiight guys. After one or two wears, you’ll have the perfect fit. Here’s how you know if you need a denim intervention: At the end of the day, if your jeans slightly sag in the tush area, it’s time. And she was right. I initially thought “these are WAY too tight”. But sure enough, they fit PERFECTLY now and I can tell in photos they’re way more flattering.

How to Wear Crop Tops: Crop tops seem to be everywhere these days. But a lot of us don’t feel comfortable showing off our middrif {at least I don’t!}. Well here’s a tip for pulling off the trend! High waisted jeans. You get full coverage, plus they suck you in. Absolutely GENIUS. Now I rock some shorter tops and feel 100% confident.

Hottest Brand and Most Flattering Jeans: This was the second biggest surprise. The Nordstrom associate said, “all of us here are OBSESSED with Good American. They’re owned by the same owner of FRAME {my favorite denim brand!} and if you have curves, they are hands down the most flattering jeans.” I was surprised to hear this because they’re also co-owned by Khloe Kardashian but the lady assured me they are LEGIT and make you look phenomenal. They have the perfect amount of stretch and the quality material ensures they lay smooth over your legs. AKA no rolls or dimples. After learning this, both my mother-in-law and sister-in-law got a pair. And I plan on scooping up some myself. I’ve had my eyes on these cut offs for a cute swim suit coverup.

Best Affordable Brands: The sales associate also introduced me to Articles of Society {based out of LA} and Top Shop {which I’ve never considered}. Best part? They are well under $90 and the fits are unbelievable! She said she specifically LOVES this pair by Top Shop {which I ended up buying}. And I wear my Articles of Society jeans (pictured here too) alllll the time.

See. I told you this Nordstrom lady changed my life! Do you buy your jeans too big? Have you ever tried these brands? Okay excuse me why I do a little shopping!
