The Small Space Entertaining Hack You Don’t Know!

Since many of you live in the city, I get asked for ‘entertaining in a small space’ advice all the time. This idea is genius for directing people where you want without them even realizing!

Entertaining In A Small Space

The Best Entertaining In A Small Space Tip

As we all know, the kitchen is the first place people flock to when hosting at your home. Since we have a small, closed off kitchen, things get tricky and tight real fast.

Until I figured out the perfect solution…

To gravitate guests to our roomier living room, I set up a small “tray bar” on our coffee table.

Guests are attracted to these styled tray bars like a moth to a flame and keep them out of the kitchen!

This idea is also great if you want to entertain in another section of your home, like in your library, formal dining room or even outside. It’s fun to mix it up!

Why You Need to Try It!

Some other perks about a tray bar are…

  • They make for an easy clean up
  • Doubles as a pretty centerpiece
  • You can transport your bar from outside to inside in seconds
  • It’s a cute way to present a signature cocktail
  • You can also greet guests at the door with festive pre-made cocktails!

Where To Get It

Mark & Graham has been a long time resource for stylish entertaining accessories. My friend gave me one as a housewarming gift many years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I almost fell off my chair when I saw their new bamboo lacquered trays. Getting it monogrammed (which is free by the way!) is the easiest way to make it even more chic. And I secretly love how it’s on trend with the bamboo handle handbags I’m seeing EVERYWHERE right now.

How To Style Your Tray Bar

Some fun ways to style your tray are incorporating…

  • a small vase of flowers
  • a fancy bowl filled with nuts
  • the whole fruits that make up your cocktail ingredients {here I used a whole pineapple and limes to represent the juices in my pineapple margaritas!}
  • a cup of festive straws
  • a stack of monogrammed cocktail napkins
  • a bowl of pre-made garnishes {tip: pineapple leaves make for the cutest garnish! Just pluck and add to your cocktail. I like the way 2 leaves look personally!}

Anything that saves time on clean up and gives you more time with my friends is a win in my book. And a tray bar is just that.
