How To Style A 4th Of July Bar

Serena and lily riviera bar

I feel like the 4th of July brings back so many summer memories as a kid. Don’t you? We’re loading up Penelope, Larry and fifty thousand bags and heading to Lake Geneva to stay with Sean’s mom. It’s supposed to rain the entire week…of course! But I feel like not having the laundry, dishes and other life responsibilities hanging over your head is vacation regardless of the weather!

What about you guys?!

Given the long holiday weekend, if you’re entertaining, here are seven ways to style a bar for Independence Day! I used my FAVORITE outdoor entertaining bar from Serena & Lily {and it’s going on BIG TIME SALE tomorrow!}. Pssssst! Check back here for a full round up.

But even if you don’t have a bar {or entertaining this weekend}, there are some pretty good tips. So worth reading regardless. And a lot of these can be applied towards Labor Day too. So bookmark this for later.

After you read my fast and easy tricks, be sure to watch my little video showing you every tip in action {Penelope makes a cameo too} 🙂

7 TIPS FOR STYLING YOUR BAR FOR 4TH OF JULY

Step 1: So you can relax and enjoy your party, style your bar the day before!

Step 2: To get guests to mix and mingle, place your bar in a seperate area from food and your table. This creates flow!

Step 3: Make guests feel appreciated with a welcome cocktail. Tip: champagne with a festive garnish is as easy as it gets! I froze berries on a toothpick here.

Step 4: An unexpected touch!Elevate your bar with cloth napkins.

Step 5: For dimension and interest, incorporate different textures! Rattan is my favorite.

Step 6: Encourage guests to linger longer! Create an “intimate mood” by adding lanterns. Everyone looks better via candlelight!

Step 7: For a festive affair, incorporate red, white or blue glassware, tableware, garnishes and products where you can! We froze berries in ice cubes, used red, white and blue sodas and blue chargers. Flowers count too!

Step 8: Keep it light! Enjoy your company.
