A Bunny Mary Easter Cocktail

Let’s Make A BUNNY MARY!

AKA a Bloody Mary made with carrot juice.

First off. I MISS BOOZE. Secondly, these are the cleverest spring cocktails I’ve seen.

Savory, spicy, carroty, and very pretty – they’re perfect for an Easter brunch or a spring shower

I found this recipe from Liquour.com and couldn’t wait to try it. It’s rimmed with salt, smoked paparika, cayenne pepper (I added celery salt…mmmmm!). Then served with an entire vegetable garden on top.

But in true Bloody Mary fashion, tweak it to your liking. Some like it spicy. Some like it mild. Some will garnish with mini cheeseburgers or shrimp cocktail… So don’t hesitate to Google “Bunny Mary” or “Carrot Bloody Mary” to find a recipe that suits your taste buds.

Now let’s hop to it shall we?!

A Bunny Mary Easter Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients

  • Pimenton salt, to rim glass*
  • 1 1/2 ounces of vodka
  • 3 ounces carrot juice
  • 1/2 ounce honey syrup
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed (lime juice works just as well)
  • 1 teaspoon caper brine (you could use olive or pickle juice too!)
  • 1 teaspoon of hot sauce
  • Garnish: parsley sprig but feel free to go wild – like I did!

Instructions

  1. Coat the rim of a Collins glass with the Pimenton salt and fill with ice.
  2. Combine vodka, carrot juice, honey syrup, lemon juice, caper brine and hot sauce in the glass and stir until chilled. Add more ice if needed.
  3. Garnish with a parsley sprig. But I did colored carrots, pickled mini corn,

*Pimenton salt: Combine 1 tablespoon smoked sweet paprika, 1 tablespoon salt and 1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Mixture will create enough to rim at least a dozen glasses.
