How To: Baby’s First Bookclub

My friend put on the most darling surprise baby shower for our two gals with buns in the ovens. Pretending to host our monthly book club meeting, we actually planned a surprise soiree of munchies, mocktails and baby books for the newest family additions. Please take a peak!

Each appetizer corresponded with a print out of a well known childhood book.

{one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish & multi-colored gold fish crackers}
{the hungry caterpillar & a caterpillar cupcake arrangement created by cupcake queen, miss Kristen}
{the stinky cheese man & a meat and cheese platter}
{the tale of peter rabbit & a vegetable medley}
{if you give a mouse a cookie & baked goods}
{cloudy with a chance of meatballs & crockpot meatballs}
{the three little pigs & pigs and a blanket}

A bit of socializing…We all arrived early to welcome the guests of honor and get the book baskets together.

{baby’s in the building! love this pic…}
And now for the presents! Each girl was asked to bring their favorite childhood book to gift to each mom. Placed in wicker baskets and a note inside, made for an easy and cute presentation.
{stickered book plates for the inside covers}
{a sweet note}
{this was my book! a favorite back in the day when I was a wee one}
{my inspiring message}
{they loved reading our messages and so fun reminiscing our favorite stories}
{the lovely moms with their take home baskets}
{and what would a shower be without a fun game?}
{Cheers to the soon to come baby boys!}
Everyone had so much fun and this is easily do-able! If you have some buns in the oven at your own book club, I highly recommend giving them a special meeting. Have you been to a book club baby shower before? Or perhaps seen other ideas? Pinterest has definitely worked it’s way into my life and loving every second of it. Here and here are some other parties to help inspire your own! And thanks again to the lovely host, miss Jessica.
