Go Blog Social #GBS2014

{The Photo Bus}

Hello fellow friends! Boy do I have some updates for you. I know I have been a bit absent as of late, so I wanted to fill you in on what I have been up to.

Go Blog Social 2014

First and foremost, I was given the most amazing opportunity to speak at the blogger conference, Go Blog Social, this past weekend. It was seriously one of the most inspirational experiences of my life and meet awesome people. Some of the top bloggers and businesses in the industry (Better Homes and Garden; How Sweet It Is (guarantee you have Pinned her recipes); House of Earnest and Style & Pepper!) shared their tips, tricks and secrets to success.

And guess what? I am going to be posting these same tidbits right here on Cedar and Rush this week! Of course I will do a recap of my own presentation “How to Network Like a Boss” too. Even if you don’t blog or care about social media, you will find these tips useful in your own life.

For those unfamiliar with Go Blog Social and blogging in general, I’m sure some of you are asking what the heck is a blogger conference? So let me take a step back for a moment.

{fell in love with this photographer’s business cards}

Bloggers and businesses from all over the Midwest flocked to Kansas City, MO to attend this event to learn about all things blogging and social media. And and of course do some killer networking. There were 14 guest speakers ranging from all different backgrounds, insight and experiences and shared their stories to businesses and bloggers wanting to know more.

There were nine of us Chicago bloggers that flew in (who are also members of Windy City Bloggers and Garnish and Glam) to attend. I will also point you in the direction of their recaps too. It’s fascinating how the same people can be in the same place but pick up different things and interpret them in their own way. So I recommend you read them all. Again, you don’t have to be a blogger or social media lover to find some of these topics interesting.

As a teaser I have listed the guest speaker agenda below and their topics:

{Sarah // Rachel // Katelyn // Samantha // Kat // Amanda}

A HUGE thanks to these lovely ladies who made Go Blog Social happen. Congrats on such a successful year and cannot wait to see what all of your futures hold! You Rock!

And if any of you are ever in Chicago, shoot me a note.
