Event Recap: Bloomingdales Collective

Last Thursday I was given the opportunity to share Bloomingdale’s newest spring collection and the season’s hottest trends! But in case you missed it, I’ve got you covered. I put together my favorite looks I pulled below.

Date Night: Ladies, I know we love our little black dress, but color is where it is at! Men love it and it makes you stand out amongst a crowd. I especially adored this electric blue dress (which apparently has been flying off the racks and sold out!). The hemline is tastefully longer (placed right about the knee), which allows the color and cutouts to speak for themselves!

Wedding: This dress is so fun and the perfect nuptial attire. I tend to find ladies wearing the same look and feel over and over at weddings (guilty myself!). It’s so refreshing to see a girl rock something outside the stereotypical cocktail dress. The mesh detailing and bold graphics keep this frock on trend (two major ones this season) and the bright yellow side stripes nip and tuck your waist!

Farmer’s Market: I am counting down the days for strolling down Division and picking out fresh eggs, heirloom tomatoes and sampling fried cheese. I am majorly crushing on this long, flowy maxi with colorful birds. After a late night on Friday, a dress requires no thinking the next morning and quite appropriate for grabbing a bloody at one of my favorite brunch spots, Tavern on Rush. This would also be spot on with a jean jacket on a cooler spring day. PS – is this Kate Spade bag not perfect to carry fresh cut flowers and a baguette?!

{zebra pleated dress // black & white print dress // white romper // silk shorts (in stores)}

 See those silk shorts on the end? I am coming back for those puppies! They are so comfy and an elastic waist is always a bonus. They are so versatile that you could wear them over a swim suit or with heels at night. I am especially inspired by this look.

Shopping Along Michigan Ave: pop of pink is clearly a favorite of mine (hello profile picture!) but the crop top is making a huge statement whether you like it or not. I am quite shy when it comes to showing my mid drift, so I paired this cropped, white, collared top with a tailored blazer to keep it a little more discreet. I typically jazz it up a little when strolling along the Mag Mile. A colorful blazer always dresses up jeans really nicely (it’s important to be comfortable with all that walking!) and the look easily segways into a ladies lunch around the corner.

A big shout out to all my friends, family and readers who showed up! This is all because of you guys and could not feel more blessed. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Tropical Vacay (right side): I adore Mara Hoffman swim suits. I splurged on a bikini last year for my honeymoon and I am completely hooked! Her prints are strategically placed in just the right places, which gives you an extra boost of confidence (what girl doesn’t need that in a two piece?!). The prints are so incredible that I actually like when it peaks out from my cover up or outfit. I kept this look simple with a silk top and jean cut off’s because of all the fun happening underneath!
My Look: If you haven’t noticed, sporty details are incorporated everywhere this season and so is black and white. And I love it! Think mesh fabrics, fancy sweatshirts, thicker strapped sandals, and geometric prints. This silk top (structured like a sweatshirt) with my tuxedo printed pants can be dressed up with heels and a statement necklace or made casual with flats. I of course dressed up for the occasion!
So there you have it folks. What do you have your eye on for spring? Have you started sporting white pants yet? I am excited for tomorrow’s event with WhatRUWearing.net as they will be sharing how to sport white denim!
