When You Have Nothing to Wear

I am having a major “I don’t have anything to wear” moment right now. I open my closet and despite it being full, nothing will do. It just simply won’t! I know this is a common feeling every girl gets. One thing that helps me when “I have nothing to wear” is pull up my two favorite Pinterest Boards (My Style and Cozy if you want to check them out). They are full of chic styles and composed of simple, classic pieces I usually already have in my closet. Light bulb! Now I know exactly what I to wear.
I rounded up a few on-trend, Fall inspirations I recently find myself referring to over and over. I hope these inspire you too whether in a rut or just love talking shop. Let’s take a peak.
A cozy, oversized sweater with pointed booties. Don’t you adore how the heels glam up this otherwise relaxed feel? The pointed toe is also a nice juxtaposition against the soft and less structured knit. And the casual bun just ties it all together.

The distressed denim, leopard pumps and pop of red sings to me! And do you notice the tiny, one roll cuff on this girl’s skinnies? I am totally doing that. Now although I do not have leopard pumps (side note: REALLY need to get some) or a crimson jacket, I do have a leopard clutch and a red sweater that easily accomplishes this overall feel.
See how this whole inspiration thing is working?

Oh look! A chunky white sweater and leopard heels again. I think I am on to something… The fact that I own a large camel handbag, a cream sweater and gold bangles gets me really excited. Also loving the jean cuff. Copycat mission success.

So the tartan/plaid scarf is huge right now. I am seeing it ev.ery.where. Easily adds texture and dimension – the key to looking pulled together. The scarf also serves some color to the neutral gray sweater and black pant. How simple to throw on when running out the door?

So the socks peeping out of boots are another popular trend. I wear my Hunter’s religiously in the winter. The wool socks and tights make them so much more chic don’t you think? And you of course could do this with any boot or even bootie.

Don’t you feel like you have a lot of these items in your closet too?! Even though I don’t own everything, it helps me get the ball rolling. So next time you are fishing for some help, I highly recommend pulling up your own Pinterest. Your boards are compiled of things YOU love, so why not apply them to your every day?

Tip: Organize your Pinterest fashion boards by season for lightening fast reference.

So tell me, how do you get out of your “I have nothing to wear” phase? Do you shop? Purge clothes? Hire a stylist? Re-organize your closet? Share in the comments below or shoot me a tweet! I am always looking for new advice.
