Holiday Gift Guide: Outside the Box

creative holiday gifts

Creative gifts are always the most fun present to give. With that being said, I have rounded up some outside of the box ideas that are sure to impress. I would love to get these myself! What is the most creative gift you have given? Or received? My mom once made me a cookbook of my favorite childhood recipes that have been passed down from family and friends. Along with each recipe are real photos of the person holding their recipe dish! I refer to it all the time and cannot wait to pass it on.

CHAI DICE: Have you ever heard of Leafcutter? It is hands down the most whimsical and creative website I have ever come across in my life – be sure to browse all the products when you have a chance. These Chai Dice look especially fun and would be perfect for a grandmother, tea lover or mom. Roll the dice, fire up a burner, and follow the randomly generated recipe to its delicious conclusion. This kit comes with all the ingredients (on the dice) and enough to make fifty cups of chai tea. What fun right?! I also adore the World’s Smallest Post Service and Seed Money.

SLEEP MASK: Tried and true, anything by Kate Spade is quite clever and fun. I especially adore their Audrey Hepburn inspired sleep mask. Morgan Lane also has some lovely bed time attire. Sweet dreams not included.

LOTTERY CARDS: I love getting scratch offs in Dirty Santa/Gag Gifts/Stockings. It doesn’t get much more affordable than this and the thrill of a possible win is what makes these so fun!

A MAKE YOUR OWN CHAMPAGNE BOX: A bottle of bubbly will never go out of style, but why not spruce it up with some delightful, holiday garnishes? A sprig of rosemary compliments a toasty champagne like nothing else. Cinnamon sticks, hibiscus flowers and cherries are yummy too! Tie it all together in a bag or box and you have got yourself a quite the champagne spread. Cheers!

KALLA FLOWERS: My love affair with Kalla has been hot and heavy ever since they came to Chicago this summer. These show stopping bouquets are the best snail mail and the delivery box is almost just as good as the flowers. Not only do these bouquets last for weeks (seriously!) but you can add chocolates and wine to go along with. My dad got my mom a Kalla arrangement for her birthday last month and she was on cloud nine for weeks. She even went as far as saying that they were the most gorgeous flowers she had received in her entire life. Way to go dad!

WHIMSICAL HOME DECOR: Any decor that strikes up a conversation or includes an activity adds that interior design factor to any room. That is why I always look to Jonathan Adler for fun and functional items. A friendly game of tic tac toe anyone?

Need some additional gift guide inspiration? I am really loving ShopBop’s gift guides for her, him, the home and under $100! And here is my life’s little luxuries list (all under $50) in case you missed it.
