Our New Coffee Table!

article mid century coffee table

Sean and I’ve been on the hunt for a new coffee table for over a year. And guess what? We FINALLY found one! What do you think?

We knew we wanted mid-century modern and wood. Everything in our space is square (from the room to the couch), so this amoeba shape balances it out so nicely.

It’s surprisingly hard to find pieces from unique brands. We like to be different from others when we can! If you’re in the same boat, I recommend checking out the following three resources.

I also linked our coffee table below!

Three Resources to Find Unique and One of a Kind Coffee Tables
  • Viyet: This is a premiere online marketplace for buying and consigning designer furniture. Which makes for some gorgeous, high quality finds you won’t find anywhere else. Since coffee tables can double as a work of art, Viyet is an awesome place to consider! The only problem? You’ll want everything.
  • Article: This is where we found our table from! It’s known for it’s modern, mid-century furniture at fair prices (they cut out the middle man). Finding a mid-century table tall enough for our sofa was quite the struggle (this style is typically low). So when I found this one, we bought it in a flash! Tip: your coffee table should be within an inch or two of your couch cushion height. I found a $50 off coupon too, so it’s a great resource to check out!
  • Craigslist & Estate Sales: This takes patience, but every so often I cruise Craigslist like it’s my job. You NEVER know when something amazing will pop up. The key is knowing the dimensions of what you need so you can quickly filter out what works or doesn’t work. If you like mid-century just type in “MCM” and all kinds of goodies appear. Same with estate sales! I’ve been scooping up all kinds of vintage amazingness. The bamboo tray shown here is one of my finds. You can’t beat the quality of pieces made back in the day!

Next up? Our walls. They’re so bare and blank. I’m attempting to hang a gallery wall up our stair case this weekend. Any tips? Wish me good luck! I’m secretly really scared 😉

P.S. Our new coffee table book looks fabulous on it too. And did you catch my interview with Gray Malin?!

A huge thanks to Nakturnal for sponsoring this post!
