How do you prepare for autumn? Although it’s still summer, there’s a slight chill in the air. I can feel it! Can you?  To make my favorite season last longer, I tend to transition ever so slightly this time of year. Plus it’s the best way to get ahead and start the new season in style.

Here’s what I’m doing now. What about you? Are you embracing autumn yet?

11 Ways To Enjoy the Transition To Autumn

  1. Swap punchy manis for clean, light grays.
  2. Let the red wine take over the rosé. Bring on the Pinot Noir baby!
  3. Plan a wine tasting – or better yet – a trip to a local vineyard. Our annual girl’s trip to the Michigan vineyards is on the books!
  4. Replace citrusy, floral candles with woodier and warmer scents. I’m burning this one now.
  5. Bring on the earthy tones. Military green is one of my favorite colors. Couldn’t resist getting THIS. Burgundy and gray are a close second. I’m especially loving this season’s hottest trend – the camera bag! Which is what I’m wearing in this post. This one caught my eye but I may love this one even more.
  6. Just add suede! These embellished sandals followed me home the other day 😉 Thanks to the texture and dusty pink, I can wear them now and well into the fall. DYING over the heels.  Also, these are sooooooooo cute. Prints for shoes are huge this season too!
  7. Let that summer cut grow out. Larry (our pup) is getting shaggy and I love it.
  8. Clear out the clutter. Fall invigorates that back to school feeling! To mimic that same fresh start, there’s nothing like a good purge. I organized our entire basement over the weekend and I feel like a new woman!
  9. Asparagus, potatoes, carrots and corn. Scooped these up from the farmer’s market last week. Fresh veggies are so delicious this time of year. And I’m secretly thumbing through my favorite chilli recipes.
  10. A fresh face. It’s time to lighten skin tones and prep for a warmer glow. So I always incorporate a new beauty routine. I can’t get enough of my new barePro liquid foundation right now. BareMinerals gave me some of their new products last week and the coverage is flawless and so natural! I’ve never used them before {have you?} and can’t believe how much I LOVE them. I’m also applying this serum and this very interesting night time powder treatment every night. I wake up glowing! Also, adding some Snake Eye Cream and Dragon Venum Lip Plumper to the rotation c/o of Radial. Can’t wait to see how they work.

What to expect this week…

In not so fall fashion, I’m going to the ShoreClub grand opening tonight! I invited my mom (she’s so cool!). Also coming out this week is Part Three of the ‘Finding The Perfect Sofa‘. Get. Excited.

P.S. My favorite summer to fall transition trend {that’s still on point} and the art of the French picnic!
